Outer Banks
The Final Season on Netflix
The Outer Banks Collection
by Demetrius Bing

People ask me all the time how I got connected with Outer Banks. The real answer is that I was at work, delivering bread.
That's my other job. I drive a delivery truck for a bread company, and on this particular day I was pushing a load into a Family Dollar like I've done a hundred times. I don't get out to a lot of places, but every now and then somebody recognizes me, either working or just out in the wild.
“A guy stopped me and asked if I was the Bing guy.”
He said he thought he should get me connected with the set decorator for a show filming in the area. I told him that'd be great, finished my route, and honestly figured that was the end of it.
Then the phone rang. It was Missy Ricker, who I'm happy to call a friend now. She had already seen my work, and she was calling because she wanted my paintings on the final season of Outer Banks.
I was enamored. I was honored just to be seen that way. My art, on a whole series, on a show people love all over the world. And the thing that got me most is that I'm from Charleston, and they filmed the show right here where I grew up. That's what made it hit different. A full circle moment.

When filming wrapped, the paintings came back to my door. So did this.

About Demetrius Bing
Demetrius Bing is a self-taught contemporary artist and Charleston native who picked up a brush for the first time at twenty-nine. His work moves between abstraction, Pop art, and street art, built up in thick color and gesture.
What started as something he did on his own time has carried him onto museum walls, gallery rosters, city murals, and now onto a television set in the city he grew up in.
I'm so stoked to sit down and watch this with friends and family and share the moment. Go check it out, then come tell me what you think.
Thank you for being part of this with me.
